Mohan Babu Early Life

Mohan Babu’s full name is Manchu Bhakthavatsalam Naidu. He was brought into the world on 19 March 1952 (age 68 of 2020) close to the banks of the Swarnamukhi River in Modhugulapalem village, Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh and in the middle of two famous pilgrimage centers, Tirupati and Srikalahasti . His dad was a teacher. He has four siblings- three younger brothers – Ranganath Chowdary, Ramchandra Chowdary and Krishna – and a sister Vijaya.

He received his early  schooling at Yerpedu village and Tirupati. He took his degree in Physics in Chennai (erstwhile Madras). Mohan Babu set up the Sri Vidyaniketan Educational Trust in 1992. It has a number of  world class schools, universities and Instructive establishments where is providing subsidized education to poor students through his educational institution Sri Vidyaniketan.

Mohan Babu Career

He worked as a physical education instructor for a brief timeframe before starting his profession in the Telugu film industry. Mohan Babu also worked in the direction department for about five years in the early 1970s. He started his career as a film artist  playing the lead role in the movie Swargam Narakam directed by Dasari whcih was released in 1975. After that he acted in in over 520 films of which he has played the lead role in 216 films . The films starring him as the hero created a sensation at the box office and were measured as a collection in the hearts of the fans. He also became a producer, producing over 50 films and becoming a successful producer. He also Served as President of the Movie Artists’ Association.

Some of his most popular movies include Pedarayudu, Sri, Rowdy, Rayalaseema Ramanna Chowdary, Soggadi Pellam, Assembly Rowdy, Alludugaru, Sri Ramulayya, Collector Garu and Major Chandrakanth amongst many others. He is still playing an active role in Telugu cinema. He entered politics and held a tenure as a member of the Rajya Sabha .
