Zak Bagans is an actor, author, television personality, and paranormal investigator from the United States. The Ghost Adventures Crew was formed by Zak Bagans, the host of the Travel Channel’s paranormal series Ghost Adventures.

Zachary Alexander Bagans, an American actor, was born in Washington, District of Columbia. On April 5, 1977, he was born. He is currently 44 years old.  Nancy Knapp, his mother, is an interior designer in the area. Jeanne K. is his father’s name (Kilroy). Meredith Bagans is his younger sister. Bagans attended Glenbard West High School and then the Motion Picture Institute in Michigan after graduation.

Bagans rose to prominence as the principal expert and host of the paranormal Ghost Adventures TV show on American television. He’s also a major supporter of the Ghost Adventures Crew (GAC), one of the largest global networks of skilled paranormal investigators.

Zak’s interest in the paranormal was reawakened after he experienced the spirit of a self-destructive woman at his condo while working in Trenton, Michigan, in 2002. Bagans and his hunting buddies, Nick Groff and Aaron Goodwin, explore sites rumoured to be haunted on the show.

He is frequently chastised for his methods, but he maintains that he respects the afterlife and only needs to elicit a response from evil. In 2011, he became the host and creator of another paranormal show on the Travel Channel called Paranormal Challenge.

He went on to write Dark World: Into the Shadows with the Lead Investigator of the Ghost Adventures Crew, a book he co-wrote with Kelly Crigger for Travel Channel’s unusual Ultimate Travel: Legends of the Parks. In 2012, he increased the scope of his paranormal activities by becoming the Executive Producer of another Travel Channel show, Paranormal Paparazzi.

In the same year, he launched his own clothing line, DungeonWear, and collaborated on two albums, one with the Belgian-American band Lords of Acid and the other with Belgian artist Praga Khan. In October 2017, he inaugurated the Haunted Museum in the old Wengert home in Las Vegas. There are 33 rooms in the museum with diverse objects on show.

Zak Bagans Facts

  •  Zak Bagans is a paranormal investigator, media personality, and actor from the United States. He is best known for hosting the popular Travel Channel series ‘Ghost Adventures.’
  • Zak Bagans was born in a middle-class family in Washington, D.C. on April 5, 1977, to interior designer Nancy Knapp and her husband. He was his parents’ second child, and he has an older sister named Meredith. After his mother’s divorce from Zak’s real father was finalised, she married again and had two additional children, Sky and Phil.
  • Zak graduated from Glenbard West High School in Illinois in 1995 with a bachelor’s degree in history and was a history buff. His undergraduate years were perplexing for him in certain ways. He intended to be a filmmaker, but he decided against it because of the challenges he might have faced. He enrolled in Western Michigan University right after graduating from high school. He dropped out of the programme after 8 months because he recognised he wasn’t cut out for it and went to the Motion Picture Institute of Michigan to study filmmaking.
  • Zak learnt the intricacies of filmmaking at the institute. He was passionate with documentary filmmaking, and after graduating from MPI, he relocated to Las Vegas to pursue his aspirations.
  • He struggled at first. To make ends meet, he did many jobs and worked as a wedding disc jockey for a while before attempting to assemble a cast and crew for his first documentary film.
  • He was a sceptic at first, but a single occurrence altered his life forever. His life has never been the same since he had an encounter with the ghost of a suicidal lady, he claims. From that point forward, he resolved to delve deeper into the supernatural side of human life, and he gathered a crew to produce a documentary-style film named ‘Ghost Adventures.’
  • Zak began filming ‘Ghost Adventures’ in 2004, with the intention of releasing it as an independent film. However, the picture was never released due to a lack of funding and a variety of other obstacles. In 2006, 4Reel Productions joined the project and decided to make it into a documentary. The trio of Zak, Aaron Goodwin, and Nick Groff photographed and recorded eerie locations in and around Nevada.
  • The documentary premiered on the Syfy channel in July 2007 and instantly gained a large fan base. At the New York International Independent Film & Video Festival, it also won the Grand Jury Prize. The first season of the series, which was turned into a full-fledged series, began in December 2008, and the series earned a cult following with each season.
  • The shooting crew has had their own spooky experiences while working on the documentary. Zak suffered many scratch marks on his back during the fourth season production, which he claims were caused by a fight with ‘evil spirits.’
  • Several paranormal aficionados have also chastised Zak and his crew for employing harsh tactics to combat the ‘evil spirits.’ Zak said that his team did not employ such hostile and provocative approaches on all spirits. They use it to arouse the evil spirits that cause harm to humans.
  • In 2011, Zak began hosting ‘Paranormal Challenge,’ a spin-off of ‘Ghost Adventures.’ Zak has structured the show in such a way that it pits renowned ghost hunters from throughout the country against one another in weekly excursions. The contestants were required to spend the night at haunted locales across the country. The show was not as well regarded as the original, and it was discontinued after only one season.
  • Zak hosted the episode “Paranormal Paparazzi,” which was set in a newsroom, in 2012. Zak spoke with a number of paranormal researchers about their experiences on haunting expeditions across the United States, including some of the most haunted locations. The show was also cancelled after its first season.
  • Zak appeared on the late-night news programme ‘Nightline’ in 2012. It was widely regarded as one of the finest television programmes of all time. Zak debuted a new TV show in 2014 called ‘Ghost Adventures: Extra Pulses.’ It features behind-the-scenes video from ‘Ghost Adventures,’ as well as some never-before-seen information and scenes.
  • Zak hosted the show ‘Ghost Adventures: Aftershocks’ in the same year. The show showcases Zak’s interviews with the former cast of ‘Ghost Adventures,’ who discuss how their paranormal encounters affected their lives.
  • Zak was a guest on two American talk shows in 2015: ‘The Late Late Show with James Corden’ and ‘The Today Show.’ Zak discussed his experiences as a paranormal researcher and his forthcoming ventures on the shows.
  • Zak created a television series called ‘Deadly Possessions’ in 2016, in which he discusses his new museum in Las Vegas. He takes the audience on a tour of the museum, which has a variety of eerie artefacts. According to Zak, these artefacts were sent to him by his followers from all around the world, together with their backstories and historical value.
  • Zak published a documentary video called ‘Demon House’ in 2018 that looked at the well-known ‘Ammons Haunting Case,’ which was widely reported in the US media in 2011. Zak bought the haunted house and had a crew film his adventure. Strange things began to happen to the team, and they began to fear for their life as time went on.
  • The documentary was acclaimed by Zak’s fervent admirers, but it was not well received by reviewers. Critics panned the film, calling it “simply another hour-long episode of “Ghost Adventures,” among other things.
  • Zak has co-authored a book titled ‘Dark World: Into the Shadows with the Lead Investigator of the Ghost Adventures Crew’ in addition to being a television personality.
  • Christine Dolce was Zak Bagans’s ex-girlfriend. He is rumoured to be dating Marcy DeLaTorre at the moment. He has never been outspoken about his personal life.
  • Zak’s shows have been called “fake” by a number of liberals and non-believers. Since the beginning of ‘Ghost Adventures,’ he has been subjected to these accusations.
